Online learning toolkit » Introduction
Skills for Change is pleased to provide this tool kit, which presents the learning and tools developed during a feasibility study which looked at using technology-based, sector specific distance employment services to support Internationally-trained Professionals (ITPs) in Ontario. Specifically, it looked at how employment training service providers can use the online tools provided by ONIP.online to:
- provide sector and profession-specific online employment services and resources to the Internationally Trained Professionals they serve
- increase their effectiveness and skills in using online tools
This tool kit represents a first stage of learning which we intend to build on in the coming years.
The study was conducted in London and Thunder Bay, Ontario. Employment service providers in these two communities pilot tested some online tools for delivering service to newcomers. Some of these service providers also completed a set of facilitated exercises and checklists to inventory the online service delivery knowledge and skills in their organizations and communities. For information about the study and its findings, contact coordinator@onip.ca
The methods and tools used by this project are documented in this Tool Kit. This kit is designed for service providers in community-based employment agencies who want to make the most of the online environment to serve the employability needs Internationally Trained Professionals.
