Mentors' Operating Assumptions

As a mentor with the ONIP.online Mentoring Program I agree to the following:

1. I commit to volunteer my time as a mentor for a four-month period.
2. I will maintain the trust and confidentiality of information provided by my mentee.
3. I will not share any personal information about my mentee without his / her consent.
4. I have read and accept the anti-harassment, anti-racism, and anti-discrimination policies of Skills for Change.
5. I will communicate regularly with my mentee based on a mutually agreed-upon schedule.
6. I will communicate regularly with the program moderator.
7. I understand and accept my responsibilities as a mentor. If I am unable to fulfill my responsibilities, or if I am having problems within the mentoring relationship I will contact the program moderator to discuss the appropriate course of action.
8. The program moderator can, under special circumstances, terminate the mentoring relationship. This may occur if either participant feels:
   • they are unable to fulfill their commitments due to ill health or any other altered circumstance.
   • they cannot meet the goals of the program.
   • if they encounter difficulties that cannot be resolved.
