Employability Knowledge and Skills Inventory
Health Care Professionals
This resource was designed in consultation with service providers and internationally-trained health care professionals from three agencies in London, Ontario. It includes an inventory of employability knowledge and skills for health care professionals, and a questionnaire.
The inventory (anchor to “Inventory” below) may be used by employment and career councellors, to help them identify gaps in skills and knowledge which may influence the employability of their clients with health care background.
The questionnaire (anchor to “Questionnaire” below) will assist employment practitioners and their organizations collect information from Internationally Trained Health Care Professionals about:
- Level of need for resources and services in each category of employability knowledge and skills
- Awareness of existing resources and services, what resources and services have been used and what improvements are needed to them
- Priorities for development of new resources and services
The resource was developed during a study which explored the feasibility of using sector specific distance learning methods to meet the employment needs of internationally-trained health care professionals in Ontario . The study was conducted by Skills for Change and funded by The Office of Learning Technologies
